TanyaTale Presents “A Catch Up”

Hey Hi my lovelies! My name is Tanya Hooper and welcome to my blog TanyaTale. If you are new to my blog, welcome. Before you delve into this post I highly recommend checking out some of my other posts first. This is more of an update or catch up kind of post and is a little different to what I usually post. That being said, feel free to read on and allow me to bring you up to speed on everything that’s been going on over the last few months.

For those of you returning to my blog, welcome back! Thank you for sticking around and waiting for me to post as I know I have been super inconsistent lately. Hopefully this post will explain to you where I’ve been and what has been going on with TanyaTale lately as I know I’ve not been giving as much attention to my blog as usual.

So where to start … well, as some of you may be aware I am a student at University. I love life as a student and have even started writing posts here and there about it. But while life as a student is great, it hasn’t left much time for blogging. Between classes and assignments and socials, I was struggling to fit in time to write posts. So they started to get a little rushed and a little sloppy – which was not what I wanted for this blog.

Anyway, summer rolled round and I had a choice to make. I could either spend the summer at home or I could get a job and house and work through the summer like a real life adult … and I chose the latter. I got a job as a tour guide/ actress just outside of my university town and I loved it. Acting has always been a passion of mine and in the last couple of years it seemed to disappear out of my life, so having a job which aloud me to get back into it was amazing. However, this was a full time job and during the summer I could be on my feet for 8 hours at a time, 6 days a week. It was exhausting and so writing became a secondary focus.

On top of this, I was struggling to post content which ‘fit’ this blog. I started the original TanyaTale blog 5 years ago when I was in school. It was just a place for my writing to be seen and to meet other like minded people. Then two years ago TanyaTale settled into its new home on WordPress and developed into a place where I could share anything creative with an audiance. Be in short stories to embarrassing insights into my, sometimes manic, life. However, when TanyaTale started I was a different person. Wow, that sounded over-dramatic. But I mean, I had different interests and different reasons for writing Unlike 5 years ago, I now attend workshops with other writers and published authors who hear my work and give me feedback on it and so my initial reason for starting TanyaTale faded away.

Which leads us up to now. No part of me is sat here wanting to quit blogging,  I love having a reason to write. But I am saying that this blog is going to have to grow and change to fit who I am now. This means that the layout of this blog has changed – as you may well have noticed.

It also means there is going to be some new content on this blog. I am looking forwards to sharing with you a new segment called “learning to adult” where I share some of my thoughts, feelings and experiences in trying to adult with you. I am also going to start posting more about “all things theatre.” Where I will share my opinions of plays and what it’s like acting on stage compared to on tours and how I deal with difficult audiences. And finally, something you may have already had an insight into, I am going to start sharing some true crime cases and conspiracy theories. I love a good horror story and so there is something I find addictive about reading true crime stories and so I figured why not try my hand at writing them myself.

Just to reassure those of you who have been with me from the start, I will still be sharing TaleTimes and will still be writing short stories. Just thebe sharing this space with some of my other interests too. I hope ye you all next week. Thank you for baring with me lately! see you all next week.
